Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about importing, pricing, ordering, and delivery.
Where do you source your vehicles from?
We source vehicles globally — Japan, UAE, Europe, USA, and other markets. Each vehicle listing clearly shows its country of origin. Japanese auction vehicles come with detailed inspection reports. Our team vets every vehicle before listing.
What is the import process for a vehicle?
You browse our inventory or submit a custom import request. We provide a full landed cost estimate including duty, taxes, and fees. Once confirmed and deposit paid, we handle the overseas purchase, shipping, customs clearance, and deliver the vehicle to Tanzania.
Which port can I receive my vehicle at?
We deliver to Dar es Salaam — Tanzania's main port and the most efficient gateway for vehicle imports. Our team handles all clearance and logistics from arrival at the port.
How long does shipping take?
Transit time depends on the source country. From Japan: approximately 20–30 days by sea. From UAE: 10–15 days. From Europe/USA: 30–45 days. We provide real-time tracking once your vehicle is shipped.
Are there age restrictions on imported vehicles?
Tanzania generally restricts used vehicle imports to under 8 years from the year of manufacture. Exceptions exist for certain vehicle categories. Our team verifies eligibility before processing any order.
How is the landed cost calculated?
Our import cost engine calculates: CIF value (cost, insurance, freight), import duty (~25%), excise duty (tiered by engine cc), VAT (18%), railway development levy (1.5%), depreciation adjustment, port handling fees, clearing agent fees, inspection fees, registration costs, and inland transport. All rates are admin-configurable and regularly updated.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept bank transfers and mobile money (M-Pesa, Tigo Pesa, Airtel Money). A deposit is required to initiate import orders. Full payment terms are provided in your quote. Contact our team for current pricing.
Is the final cost different from the estimate?
Our estimates are based on current rates and typical values. The final duty is confirmed by TRA at the time of customs clearance. We always note this in our estimates. Our team works to minimize any variance.
What currency are prices shown in?
Vehicle prices are shown in USD for the CIF value. The full landed cost breakdown is calculated in Tanzanian Shillings (TZS) using the current exchange rate. Payment can be made in TZS at the prevailing rate.
